As a teacher, if you have the professional knowledge you are able to use the assessment results to plan further learning for individual students as shown on "showing an emerging interest", "snails" then the "bug hunt". You also provide materials which support the goals and engage students. I used magnifying glasses to motivate and engage Henry in his learning and to enable him to notice that magnifying glasses make the bug look bigger.

Teaching (16)- I noted that the children had developed interest in a crane and I explained to them how it works. Mostly I was thrilled with the way they would find a strategic position to be able to see and also how they thought that I could lift them so as to clearly see. I demonstrated that I can be flexible and respond to the needs of the children thus successfully engaging them so as to guide them in their learning.
Professional knowledge (5)- Instead of going to look for snails and slugs I used a book to help the child recap on what he had learnt the previous day.
Professional knowledge (6)- I chose books, life- like toys and pictures to extend the children's interest in insects and bugs.

Professional Relationships (20)- Contributing to the life of the learning centre.
I contributed actively, positively and constructively to this parent event and social occasion by taking my time to talk to the parents and getting to know the families of the children I teach and serving them tea.
