Thank you for the video.I am pleased that I was able to acknowledge children's thinking as I interacted with them especially Leila.During our conversation with Leila I was able to listen to her and assess what she knows. As a teacher I then used this knowledge to plan learning activities for her and the other children as most of them like The bear hunt story.
I also did communicate with the other children who were coming in, and also listening to their voices. I hope to improve my questioning technique as I interact with the children and also continue to get to know each one of them as individuals.
Thank you for the readings, they are quite helpful. I picked that assessment provides information that can help improve students learning and help teachers in teaching. It is vital for teachers to continue to listen in depth to what the children say so as to assess where they are.I also picked that by engaging in professional dialogue, a professional learning environment is created that allows teaching teams to explore values, beliefs and practices in a way that goes beyond the reflections that are possible for each individual teacher. This promotes greater team-work,while alleviating the tension that may form within a teaching team if conflicting personal theories are not understood.
